Sweden Visa Guide
Sweden, the fifth-largest country in Europe, is renowned for its natural beauty and contributions to art, sports, literature, and science. Indians can now explore this Nordic wonderland with the Sweden visa. This guide provides comprehensive information on obtaining a Sweden visa.
What is a Sweden Visa? A Sweden visa allows entry and a specific stay duration in Sweden. Depending on your purpose of visit, various visa types are available. Being part of the Schengen Agreement, a visa issued by the Swedish embassy also permits travel to other Schengen countries.
How to Apply for a Sweden Visa? The Embassy of Sweden has outsourced the application process to Visa Application Centers (VACs) across India. Visa applications are submitted offline; there is no online application for Sweden visas from India. Here’s how to apply:
- Collect all required documents according to the checklist for your visa type.
- Visit the VAC or Embassy of Sweden website to download the application form.
- Fill out the application form with accurate details and print it.
- Schedule a visa appointment at the VAC or Embassy.
- Visit the selected VAC or Embassy with your documents, completed application form, and fees. Biometrics will also be collected.
Note: Long-term National Sweden visa applications must be submitted directly to the Embassy; VACs cannot accept them. If you’ve submitted biometrics for a Schengen visa within the past 5 years, you can send your application through a third party with your signed authorization letter.
Ensure all documents are genuine; submitting fake documents or false information may result in visa rejection.
