Zimbabwe Tourist Visa Guide

Zimbabwe Tourist Visa

Indian citizens are fortunate to be among those eligible to apply for a visa to Zimbabwe. While not all nationalities enjoy this privilege, there is optimism that more countries may benefit from this online visa application system in the future. If you’re an Indian resident planning a trip to Zimbabwe, you can now choose between a traditional embassy visit and an efficient online experience.

Zimbabwe Visa Requirements for Indian Citizens

To apply for a Zimbabwe visa, ensure that you have all the necessary documents readily available.

Find the checklist of documents you will need:

  • A Valid Passport: If you don’t already possess one, arrange to obtain a valid passport. For those with an existing passport, check its expiration date to confirm it remains valid throughout your intended stay in Zimbabwe.
  • Digital Scan of Your Passport: Focus on scanning the information page of your passport, but it’s advisable to monitor all relevant pages for completeness.
  • Digital Passport Photo: Provide a recent passport-sized photograph. While current photos are preferred, an older one can suffice if your appearance has not significantly changed.
  • Payment Method: Please prepare a credit/debit card or PayPal account, as you’ll need to make the payment before submitting your application.
  • Proof of Address: Obtaining proof of address is relatively straightforward. You can secure a host letter or obtain a hotel confirmation.
  • Copy of Previous Visa (if applicable): This requirement only pertains to Indian citizens who have previously visited Zimbabwe. If you fall into this category, locating your old visa copy should be feasible.

Once you have all the necessary documents, you can proceed to complete the application forms.

Processing Time and Costs

The Zimbabwe eVisa offers a swift processing period and is very cost-effective. Notably, the visa itself is free, and you are only required to cover the service fees. There are three processing options available:

  • Standard Processing Time: This option costs approximately $20 (1,387 and 22 INR) and includes a ten-business-day wait for the approval letter. It is the most economical choice and commonly selected.
  • Rush Processing Time: For $60 (about 4161.66 INR), this alternative reduces the processing time to just five business days.
  • Super Rush Processing Time: Selecting this option ensures that the approval letter reaches your inbox within three business days. It costs approximately $80 (₹ 5,548.88).

In addition to the service fees, you are required to pay a stamping fee of $45 upon arrival in Zimbabwe.

Applying online offers significant convenience compared to visiting the Zimbabwean embassy in person. You can also complete the process from the comfort of your home; the steps are straightforward, and there’s no need to send your passport anywhere. Undoubtedly, this is the most efficient way to secure a Zimbabwe visa.
